No, it is not possible for two people who have never had any STDs to contract an STD from each other. If a person does not have an STD, there is nothing that can be transmitted. However, just because someone has not had any genital-to-genital contact with others does not necessarily mean they are entirely free of STDs. Some STDs can be transmitted through other means, such as:
- Unprotected oral sex can spread certain STDs
- IV drug use
- Mother-to-child transmission during childbirth
Additionally, some STDs like herpes can be transmitted even without symptoms through asymptomatic viral shedding. And if one partner had a previous STD that was never properly treated, it could still be present and transmittable. The only way to know for sure that both partners are STD-free is to get tested at a clinic, as being a virgin is no guarantee of STD status. Using protection like condoms and getting regularly tested are the best ways to avoid STD transmission when sexually active.
